THE APPOINTED PATTERN

Temple Article & Feast Day Correspondence

The same sevenfold order is reflected in the articles of the Temple and in the Feasts of the Lord.

DAY 1 · Age of Sacrifice · TEMPLE ARTICLE

Brazen Altar

Exodus 27:1–8 · Leviticus 17:11

The altar stands at the entrance to God’s dwelling, where sacrifice makes approach possible. It corresponds to the first division of light from darkness: sin brings separation, while the accepted sacrifice opens the way back into God’s light.

DAY 1 · Age of Sacrifice · FEAST OF THE LORD

Passover

Exodus 12:1–14 · 1 Corinthians 5:7

As light was called out from darkness, Passover marks a people called out of bondage by the blood of the lamb. Redemption establishes the first great division: life from death and those who belong to God from the realm of darkness.
